SUMMARY:Indigo Dyeing Course @ FABRIC
DESCRIPTION:FABRIC and Boston Makers have teamed up to present this program as a part of Boston Design Week. \nLearn the basics of indigo dyeing by exploring a variety of techniques. Traditional shibori\, resist\, and pole-dyeing techniques will be included with hands-on help. You will have a choice of items to purchase to dye for $5-$20. Participants may also bring a prewashed item to dye. We recommend 100% cotton or silk fabrics for best results.  ​No previous experience necessary. Come have fun\, get messy\, explore and see what you can do! \nTwo sessions to choose from: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 2-5 p.m. Participants in our Upcycling workshop on April 8 (morning or afternoon sessions) are eligible for a $10 discount for the Indigo Dyeing Course\, subject to availability.

SUMMARY:Girl Makers and Coders Program
DESCRIPTION:This free program is a collaboration with the Boston Public Library\, designed for teen girls (middle school through high school) who enjoy designing\, making things with their hands\, tinkering\, and who want to learn how to code. They will have a chance to unleash their creativity and create something that thousands will see. The girls will work in small teams to design and build an interactive electronics project with colorful LEDs controlled by sensors and their code\, which they will transfer to a microcontroller.
